Twilight star Robert Pattinson says he wouldn't want to play songs X Factor judge Simon Cowell gave him
Robert Pattinson can play the guitar
Robert Pattinson wouldn't sign a record deal with Simon Cowell.
The Twilight star says he's too picky about his music and wouldn't want to perform the songs The X Factor judge, 51, gave him.
'Simon is a clever guy and he's created artists that he knows the public will like,' explains Robert, 24.
'But that's why I don't think he could ever launch my music career. I am selfish with my music.
'I get my guitar and I play what I like, but the problem is I don't think many other people would like it.'
Robert thinks the public will only appreciate his music once he's gone.
'I am sure I'll be one of those artists that people don't pay any attention to while I'm alive, and when I am dead people will go yeah, man, that was a work of art,' he tells The Sun.
'I see myself playing in a rundown blues bar, with about three people drowning their sorrows. I play according to my mood, and sometimes that can come across as very depressing in music.'

X Factor judge Cheryl Cole says her new tattoo represents a new start for her.
The Girls Aloud star showed off a flower leaf design on her upper left thigh as she unveiled her wax figure at Madame Tussauds last week.
'I designed it myself with the help of an artist and had it done to symbolise a new beginning,' Cheryl, 27, tells the Daily Mirror.
'I am ready to move on, make a fresh start. It starts on my thigh and it goes all the way up.'
Cheryl got the tattoo 2 months ago in LA to mark her divorce from Chelsea footballer ex-husband Ashley Cole.
She's also recently dyed her hair red.
'It's a new chapter,' Cheryl tells The Sun. 'I do think maybe subconciously as a women you do change your hair and things like that.
'It's not something I thought, "I'm going to change my hair for this", but I think that's one of the first things you do. I haven't done anything else yet, but I'm going to do everything new.'
Cheryl has 5 other tatoos - the iconic one on her hand, a barbed wired pattern around her right thigh, a butterfly on her lower back, an etching on her left buttock and the words Mrs C on her neck.

Simon Cowell is planning to give One Direction a record deal whatever the outcome on The X Factor, it has been claimed.
The music mogul, 51, is already thought to have lined-up a manager for the boys - Zain Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan.
'He has said he'll sign up One Direction even if they don't win,' says a source.
'He was heard saying in one of their early auditions, "I would sign them now if that was an audition in my office."

'And he's already lined up someone to manage them when the show finishes.'
But a show spokeswoman insists Simon - who is also mentoring Belle Amie - has not made any such decision.
'It's too early for all that,' she tells the Daily Mirror. 'One Direction may fall out of the competition.
